A story for two b-boys

VIENDUDU (Together Alone) is a study of the canons of identity in hip-hop dance, using the most masculinist dance form, breaking. Transforming the slogan of the Olympics to propose a new format of empowered identity, artists question topics around the global neighbourhood, as it invites the audience to explore the heritage of an imported art form: Hip-Hop.

Dandelion | Edward Schocker & DOSSIER 3-D-Poetry/ Marion Dieterle (Germany)

Dandelion, examines our “sense of self” while questioning the uniformity of these perceived feelings. On an everyday level, a unified sense of self can be taken for granted. We wake up in the morning, feel comfortable and in full control of the physical body we are inside. Yet, many people have experienced events that have taken them out of their normal state of mind. Dandelion investigates these moments when we feel we have crossed over to glimpse an alternate state of being and uses dance, music and storytelling to reflect the emotions and experiences for the audience.

(Workshop for children aged 5+ with parents/guardians) 

Catalina Carrasco, choreographer of the Spanish dance troupe BAAL, invites children to immerse themselves in a movement adventure and open a portal of fantasy and creativity together.

During the class, we will play with bodies, space, shapes and colors, using materials such as rubber bands, sheets of paper, dry brushes and other elements that enliven the dance. We will learn how all this affects our movement and opens up a world of new possibilities – painting with the body, drawing maps in space, creating bridges and paths.

The dance workshop is intended for children aged 5 and over and their accompanying persons. No previous dance experience is required to participate in the class. During the session, we recommend that participants wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.

The session will be held in English with translation to German.

SOMATATI is a performance that transcends boundaries and embraces inclusion. Presented by CiM Dance Company, this production features a cast of performers with and without disabilities. A sense of unity and belonging is nurtured within the community. Four characters come to life and embark on a profound journey of discovery that leads them to the question: What are superpowers actually? Through the art of dance, ideas merge into an emotional fabric that connects the past, present and future.

Mabel Revival is a hilarious mix of dance, performance, and cabaret. The choreographer Liisa Pentti together with musician Robert Kock are taking their audiences into the charmed world of female divas, adored icons and objects of our desire. Mabel is a woman without remorse, a female diva and shaman-performer. To celebrate life, one need to speak about death and embrace the realms where we can enter only in our dreams – thus the story of Marbel Revival. Mabel is a celebration of femininity and ageing and asks the question of how women in their 60s are still relevant on stage and how they are represented.

A&S Space travellers is a performance with parents and child for intergenerational audiences. It is a scenic proposal that aims to generate empathy, fantasy, dialogue and communication, within a fantastic Martian universe. The performers build an unknown place filed with volumes, circles, and spheres. Beings from another planet come to visit this world to interact and play with terrestrials. It is a surreal work with plastic and pictorial magic created through objects, dance, the relationship with technology, and audience participation.

Mit Uns! | Silke Z. (Germany)

This is an intergenerational and inclusive dance performance by choreographer Silke Z., from Cologne, Germany. Karel, a dancer aged 66 and David a 27-year-old dancer with trisomy 21 meet and share their bodily landscapes, measure their individual bodily shapes and challenge each other’s movement forces. They encounter each other in a completely human way: like father and son or like best friends.

What new representation and embodiment of being a diva can succeed in this day and age, when bling-bling and social media divas are part of our commercialized everyday lives? Where are our personal, fantastical beings hiding, whose presence is irresistible and wild? In this workshop, through movement work and imaginative tasks, we will create space to explore our personal divas. The workshop is aimed at anyone who is interested in their (inner) divas and requires no prior knowledge of diva life.

A Society of Screens | Ido Grinberg (Germany)

A person in an empty space full of touchscreens tries to connect with the world outside through the looking glass, to feel, to sense, to hold and to touch. He navigates himself and searches for his voice in a world where screens control his life and tell him where to go and when he arrived at his destination, entering a technological wonderland.

A solo performance for an isolated performer that explores the relation between the individual and the society in a changing world, and examines the interaction between the body and the screen through the sense of touch.
