Caroline Simon – Tanz

Caroline Simon wurde 1977 in Brüssel geboren, studierte Bühnentanz in Belgien am Performing Arts Research and Training Studios unter der Leitung von Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Sie beendete ihr Studium im Juni 2001 in den Niederlanden, an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz (Rotterdam), als Tänzerin, Choreographin und Tanzpädagogin.

Sie tanzte in Stücken von u. a. Minke Brands (NL), Ex Nihilo (F), Ilona Pászthy, artscenico, Alexandra Dederichs und Silke Z. (D).

Seit Mai 2001 lebt und arbeitet Caroline Simon als Tänzerin, Probenleiterin und Choreographin in Köln. Dort produzierte sie u.a.: Time Trap - or short genuine stories (2002), BLUFF (2004) nominiert für den Kölner Tanzpreis 2004, SELECT! (2006), stück (2008), nominiert für das Kölner Tanzpreis 2008 und ausgewählt für das europäisches Festival Aerowaves.

Seit April 2005 ist sie künstlerische Leiterin des STUDIO 11, Produktionsstätte für regionale und überregionale Kompanien in Köln. Da veranstaltet sie zusammen mit Silke Z. die Tanz- und Perfromancereihe studioworks.

2006 erhielt sie das Choreographen Stipendium der Kunststiftung NRW für eine Weiterbildung am Moving On Center, San Francisco.

2008 gründete sie zusammen mit den Kompanien Lupita Pulpo (Berlin), Ludica. (Düsseldorf) und Silke Z./resistdance. (Köln) das überregionale Netwerk die.idee/artist network.

Sie wurde 2009 im Rahmen des Dublin Fringe Festival für "best female Performer" nominiert.

Seit 2009 ist Caroline Simon festes Ensemble Mitglied der Kompanie Silke Z./resistdance.

Sie ist seit 2009 Gründungsmitglied des europäischen Netzwerkes studiotrade.

2010 kreiert sie das Stück "Corpus Delicti - je est un autre" für das Theaterhaus TIG7 in Mannheim.

Caroline Simon - dance

Caroline Simon was born in Brussels in 1977. She studied contemporary dance at the Performing Arts Research and Training Studios, directed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. She graduated in June 2001 at the Rotterdam Dance Academy as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer.

She performed in performances by Minke Brands (NL), Ex Nihilo (F), Ilona Pászthy, artscenico, Alexandra Dederichs and Silke Z. (D).

Since May 2001, Caroline Simon lives and works in Cologne, where she produces her own work, a.o.: Time Trap - or short genuine stories (2002), BLUFF (2004) nominated for the Cologne Dance Award 2004, SELECT! (2006), piece (2008) nominated for the Cologne Dance Award 2008 and selected for the European festival Aerowaves.

Since April 2005, she is the artistic director of STUDIO 11, a production studio in Cologne for free lance theatre and dance makers. Together with Silke Z., she is the artistic director of the series studioworks.

In 2006, she received the choreography grant from the Kunststiftung NRW for somatic studies in San Francisco.

In 2009, she was nominated "best female performer" at the Dublin Fringe Festival.

She is a core member of Silke Z./resistdance. since 2009.

She is a founding member of the European network studiotrade since 2009.

In 2010, she created the piece "Corpus Delicti - je est un autre" for the theatre TIG7 in Mannheim.
